I used to play but haven't in a few years. I am sure that I would be more than rusty.

I like chess, but I take way too long to move, so I like chess puzzles better. One of my favorite books is The Chess Mysteries of Sherlock Holmes by Raymond M. Smullyan, which has to do with chess retrograde analysis where you look at the placement of pieces are try to deduce what happened earlier. For instance, prove which square the queen was captured on, prove what white's last move was, prove that there is a promoted piece on the board, or prove that black can't castle.

I try to play chess but admit I’m horrible. I prefer Go (the Chinese/Asian game) and have spent more time studying how to play it than chess. My son and I have had games last 3 hours or more.

I still like it but I would have to practice before getting back into playing live, and loving it.

Thanks, I stopped early because I was young, and I was into everything without focus. But it was partly because I left the school that was promoting chess in a big way, so I think I lost interest a bit.

I studied that film when I was ranked. I had it when it was on VHS... I think I still have it.

I wanted to be a grandmaster, so Fisher was like an X-man I actually had a chance of being like.

Then about the time Deep Blue beat Kasparov I kind of lost interest.
