  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Home...first time since June 6th. Tired too.

I now have the best traveled pets of anyone I know. They rode in the car through 12 different states during this time. They did good though...especially the dog who hadn't ever left his own backyard until we moved him here a year ago.

(The kids grew up traveling and are great at it...they could pack up for a cross country trip with less than a day's notice. ;0 )

We usually drive 700-800 miles in a day so we get where we are going as quick as possible. We did stop at the World's Largest truck stop and the American Picker's shop in Iowa (my daughter's favorite show). However, when it is close to 100 degrees and we are traveling with animals, our stops have to short and sweet. Some day I hope to take a trip where we actually can stop at more things. We passed a couple museums we will hit the next time we make this trip. (Hopefully, minus the animals)

The cat was funny. Mostly he likes to sit in his box. We leave the door open so he can wander as he wants. The first day back on the road, he woke up in a bad mood....wandered the car hissing at everyone and everything. Walked to the back where the big hound dog has a space and hit him on the nose 3 times. Dog lets out a barage of barking that made me almost jump out of my seat (he is a big dog with a deep voice). Once I heard what was going on, I yelled at the cat...but I assume the dog got his point across. LOL. Basically, the cat is the "little brother" to the dog and sometimes the dog has to remind the cat. Other than that, they are mostly cool while traveling. My mom was truly amazed (she road from Texas to Colorado with us). I hope we can find a pet sitter for the next trip...however, the dog is still a bit traumatized from when we had to leave him behind for 6 months...and I just knew that he couldn't emotionally handle us being away for as long as this trip would be. (Besides, kenneling him and the cat for that long would have broke the bank). It is good to know that they can handle the traveling if they need to. :)
