• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just thought I would check in. I have been busy. We found a half sister of my husband and we got to meet her in May. It was amazing. And we also have been on vacation. Pray for me as I have put my Pdoc appointment off 2 times and I finally got my blood work done and I have to go to the Pdoc on Tuesday and I am scared to go. She wants to put me on other medication.

I just dont want to go tomorrow. I dont like that thought of going to a pdoc. I call them my crazy doc.
As you can see I am having a hard time accepting this BP:sigh:
Sherr, I do understand the reluctance. I spent nearly 10 years fighting the issue and as a result of the delay suffered several major set backs. Loss of marriage, loss of several jobs, etc. I hate the meds but I am convinced now that they are necessary, along with seeking God and His counsel daily, continuing to grow and learning to love properly all over again. In my case, I let all of this drive me from my first love. Now I am returning. I hope you are well and that you will find peace in this struggle. There are plenty here who do understand the difficulty accepting that BP is real and that we will have to live with it. Not much different than any other chronic condition however. Don't fear, you can make it.

I was given a med change, too. Doctor added abilify. Unfortunately, the side-effect of extreme restlessness was too much to bear. I was pulled off of it. Give it time, but if the side-effects are too great, let your doctor know.
I was on Abilify last summer too, and it was so not good for me. I hope your search for the right meds gets better. :)
