• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I need some answers. I have a good friend who recently cheated on her husband with his best friend. It was a "one night stand" sort of affair. She is a strong Christian and realizes the sin in what she did. She has asked me for help, but I'm not sure what to tell her. We have talked about God's forgiveness and the obvious things like keeping herself out of innappropriate situations with the friend. But I don't know how best to help her to heal. What advice can I give her? She hasn't told her husband b/c in the past, they'd talked over scenarios. He said that if she ever cheated and was sorry for it, he'd rather her not tell him b/c he wouldn't be able to forgive her but he couldn't live without her, so he'd rather not know. Does anyone have any advice I can give her besides just to pray?

Well, tis is a pretty difficult situation.
First of all, she knows she has committed the sin, Heavenly Father's forgiveness is very important here. She must repented and not to committed again. Ask her to forgive herself of what she has done. This must not be the stumble block between the walk of the Lord.
Pray for her for strength and the courage to face the consequences.
Encourage her, Whatever the outcome will be, she will not be facing alone.
Lastly final decision is still lie wif her. As a good frd, i personally dun encourage you to tell her what to do, instead like you can suggested thing as in... perhap you can, perhap you would like to...you know what i mean? There are things you need to be sensitive about, as in any shown of depression, anxienties, worries?
You might not be a good advior but you can be a companion.

There can be no healing without openness with her husband. They both have a lot to face and work through. That can only be done when it is out in the open. Otherwise in will become an open sore that will affect the marriage in some way.

Very true. There is only one thing she needs to do.
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is the only thing to do.

She has to repent ans ask for forgiveness then admit and ask for forgiveness.
First one to God, second to her man.
