I have to figure out what I'm going to cook tomorrow for our Thanksgiving potluck at work. Other than "thou shalt not bring turkey" the guidelines are pretty much non-existant. I think I'll bring a meatloaf.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wanted to be a nurse when I was a child, but as I got older I realized I wouldn't be able to handle the things I would see.
But I'm forever thankful to RC and everyone else who has taken on the nursing career. We would be lost without nurses.

I don't mind that. What I dislike is that in some ways I am practically teaching a "remedial work" class. Simple things like you don't call off after your shift starts because you have out of town company that has been there for two days. Or that you wear clean things to work. Or that you don't stroll off the unit whenever you feel like it. Or that the time that you are scheduled to be at work is not a mere suggestion......
