He recycles a lot, but I really enjoy a lot of his music. The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady is one of my favorite albums in any genre. I wish Impulse would have let him cut it without the breaks, but it works. There are some pretty obvious edits he's made to get the whole composition where it's going, but I think it's an amazing album.
I can't bear the liner notes, however. Wasn't crazy about his autobiography, either.
Ah Um is probably my second favorite album of his, then the Town Hall Concert with "So Long, Eric." Then Money Jungle, though maybe that doesn't count.
