I give people room as I judge their teaching. If a guy approaches asking for money in a way I think is over the top. I don't throw out their teaching.;) I just don't agree with the one thing I disagree on and don't follow that example.

I respect the work they put in and the knowledge of the Scriptures and power of the Spirit. I long to follow God the way they have. Yet my life is not theirs. And I answer to God for my life:bow: and not theirs. And I will present to the Lord my works and not theirs.

Charles Capps::)wow what a man of God :thumbsup:and great teaching he had. God will be blessing his ministry through his teachings of books and recordings for years to come.

This is one of the problems of internet discussion. If we could all sit down in a room and continue this discussion with each other, I would say it would come out a lot different. We would work towards agreement. Or we wouldn't but there would be more civil dialog.

We will not get away from debate, here on the internet. But if the debate can be done in good faith and an outlook to improve our understanding of Spiritual things we grow and improve.

This is one of the reasons, in my opinion, few post here. But I'm not giving up on internet forums. You never really know who you are helping. Bring out the light. Shine Jesus through you to others.

This is totally, totally awesome. If our light SHINES to them (even trolls) with God's LOVE overflowing in us... then they will/may be "lit" up more to LOVE others... not criticize.

Capps, Copeland, and others have blessed me.

If I disagree with something, I don't criticize, I pray.

Only the LORD knows who's wrong.

Most likely it's me misunderstanding what a wof teacher said.

The Lord told me HE tells Copeland, Capps, etc, what to teach, and then it's up to me to discuss with the LORD what HE wants me to do with what I heard.

IOW, I listen to these teachers, but DO what the LORD says.

I appreciate your posts and your attitude.

You contribute the the quality of this forum, as do all the regular wof who were trying to reply to the one person who came in with guns blazing against Copeland etc.

IMO, the wof in this forum are great examples of walking in love.

I'm impressed by the sincerity and character of wof members here.

No need to get all up in arms. It would be a wise admonition to say that to openly speak against ministers (actually judging them to be deceived) that you don't agree with doctrinally tends to try the patience of congregational members.

Several have said in recent months that they might not agree with Copeland on some points, but I see where an attempt to reach out to the Catholics is not a "cave in" in judgment. It would be wrong to discredit any ministry to the point where somebody encourages everyone to back away from it (dissuading them).

I don't think it is a case of not being able to hear controversy in doctrinal matters (WOF doctrine). We've all heard that and a LOT of patience has been expressed to others who drop in here and "ask" (when you know they're often questioning it).

Non-WOF people often read what is posted here and it does not bode well for WOF if we're doing the very things you often find in other (not so far away) parts of the forum. So maybe restating your opinion on Copeland, or at least provide an actual quotation that you believe is controversial. If something was said that is clearly bad, there's nothing wrong in issuing a word of caution (as you see it).

So the end of it is that rushing to judgment against WOF teachers to be more divisive than helpful. You'll make a lot more friends being supportive.

There are some very wise responses on this thread. I like it! Of course we don't all agree on every single line of doctrine, even in our own churches. If we do that would be pretty unusual. I have a number of pastors/teachers I listen to and learn from. God has set me under them to learn from them and hopefully to bless them in return.

It doesn't mean I have to blindly believe everything they teach or preach. They may be accurate, but I'm not ready to hear it. Or they may be a little off in an area and God will deal with them about it. We're all learning, even our "leaders." But they all pray and study and hear from God. He will correct them (IF they need it) just the same way He corrects us.

So, if someone says something I disagree with, I don't have to go spreading it all over the place gossiping and slandering and making the preacher look bad. I have to pray about it. I may learn and grow from it (hopefully)! If you still think they're wrong and its that important to you, turn them off and pray for them.

If we judge others, we are judged in exactly the same way. THEY aren't judged because we judge them, WE are. This is Matthew 7:1-3 in the Amplified Bible:

Do not judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves. 2 For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you.
3 Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother’s eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye?

Paul said in I Corinthians 13 that he only knew in part, do we think we know everything? I hope not or I'm way behind!

Quite frankly I do not understand the idea of doctrines at all.
It is not what a Preacher teaches or a denomination.

It comes down to the same question Pilate asked our lord:what is truth?
So we have many squabbling denominations that a babe in Christ will never find the truth.
There is only one undeniable truth, that is the living Word of God.

Any doctrine that cannot reconcile with God's Word is false.
Every body cannot be right,so who is wrong?

Today we can not even decide what version of the Bible to read from.
How will we ever know truth when we cannot agree on the foundation?

It's been with us from the beginning:

1 Corinthians 1:10-13
10 I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to agree together, to end your divisions, and to be united by the same mind and purpose. 11 For members of Chloe's household have made it clear to me, my brothers and sisters, that there are quarrels among you. 12 Now I mean this, that each of you is saying, "I am with Paul," or "I am with Apollos," or "I am with Cephas," or "I am with Christ." 13 Is Christ divided? ...

Every body cannot be right,so who is wrong?
Probably ... everyone. :o

Wow now faith... This is a good one. I would love to add input but unfortunately my day will be taken up with other matters. The only thing I can offer now is what we have all heard before...

"Chew on the meat and spit out the bones."

Then... "according to your faith... be it unto you." (Math 9:29)

Still does not answer who's right or who's wrong. On the top of my head right now... and not really thinking about it is this... "If you are right, then... am I wrong? But... If your wrong, then... am I right?"

We are all right... and we are all wrong... (on some things). I know that we as (true Christians) do believe that Jesus Is LORD. We are BOTH right about that... How's that for a quick answer?

(gotta run)

There is truth. God's word is truth. The point of hearing and understanding is not just with reason. We need ears to hear.

John 5:44 ""How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?" Pride and faith can't coexist. A person with pride will not hear/understand the truth.

A way out of pride is to help others in practical ways. Do something where you won't be gaining anything from the activity.

Philippians 1:9 "And this I pray that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment."

Phil 1:9 Paul prays for the love of the Philippians to increase in real knowledge and all discernment. It is the knowledge Paul is praying for. It is the love that increases the knowledge.

And in Ephesians 1:15 love and faith are prerequisites for knowledge to increase.

Ephesians 1:15 "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints,"

God's kingdom works by love and faith. Knowledge allows us to move further in love and faith. Disagreements come from the knowledge. If the person I am in disagreement with works with me in helping others in love and faith our disagreement will decrease and may even disappear. Unless of course our very act of service is our disagreement, such as praying for healing.

It's strange, millions of people for example go to School and get various degrees of education.
They apply themselves to text books from different publishers Nationwide.
With the exception of philosophy, there are few disagreements on education.
We accept universal truth in fundamental education.

It Amazes me how scholars, theologians Pastors, and teachers can disagree on the Bible.
Not minor disagreement but deal breakers, that greatly divide Christianity.

This disagreement is vindication for God's Word being more than knowledge.
It tells me God's Word is a spiritual text[ the living word Jesus Christ]
Being spiritual there will be temporal scholars who are blinded to the truth.

Being spiritual it brings out another entity.
The enemies of God who seek to divide and dispelling God's Word.
It would be impossible to debate geometry, but in comparison the Bible is quantum physics.

In Spirit and truth,God made his Word plain and simple to agree upon.
But the devil is a liar,he seeks to confuse and confound the Word.

His success brings a gospel void of Faith and power.
