  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you think charities should worry about professionalism, or just meet the bare minimum. In a normal business, you want to go above and beyond, but I'd think in a charity, where clients really only need the bare minimum, going above and beyond is wasteful. Why take one hungry person to fine dining when you could feed 10 the bare minimum?

Should charities go above and beyond, or meet the bare minimum, when serving people in need?

All charities are different. No matter if your a charity or not you should still be concerned about waste. But waste is a matter of perspective.

A few months ago I listened to a documentary on welfare and situations where the government financially helped out people in need. Basic medical and living needs can be provided but the government can't provide the most necessary need, the one that working or being apart of the community gives you. The being needed feeling.

Be responsible with funds but waste is a matter of perspective. Pay $100.00 for a hair cut that would make a women feel valuable again but don't buy a car or shoe that is above what you need and for only material purposes.
