Character or Plot driven story?

I think both are equally important.

If you have a great character in a book with a bad plot, the book will suck.

If you have sucky characters in a book with a good plot, the book still sucks.

If you have great characters in a book with a great plot, the plot helps accentuate the quality of the characters, making everyone happy.

I focus more on the characters, but I agree with most people here on that both are equally important.

I've been focusing more on plot lately. But only because I find it harder to come up with a great plot than to develop a character.
The plot helps develop the characters; character development is the result of the character's decisions and reactions; and the plot is also the result of the character's decisions and reactions. But of couse, you can't forget the antagonist and the things beyond the character's control, even to the point of Deus ex machina.
So there's no such thing as "character driven" or "plot driven". A story is simply "driven" by both, IMO.

A good story should be driven by the setting, the voice, the style, the mode, the plot, and the protagonist...
