At a site I was once a member at, they did a Video Game character battle. It was a lot of fun so I thought I would propose it here.
Basically, everyone could nominate two video game characters (character name and game or series of origin) to be in the competition. Once we had reached a set number (64 seems to work well, though it could go higher or lower as needed), I would number them 1 to 64 (or whatever), then use a random number generator to create a match-ups between four characters. Then, anyone that wanted to, could post their vote for their favorite two out of those four. After about two or three days, the votes would be tallied, and the top two would advance to the next round. This would continue until we had our champion.
I don't know if anyone would be interested in doing this but, if you are feel free to throw out a couple of nominations. If we have some interest, but not enough nominations, we can expand upon the limit of two later on.
I did a search on here and didn't see anything like this, so hopefully I'm not repeating something that someone else has done.
My nominations would be:
1. Samus Aran (Metroid Series)
2. Simon Belmont (Castlevania Series)
Any thoughts and suggestions are also appreciated.
