  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi Gwynne. Gosh I'm soooo sorry, I just realised that you were Methodist, I'm sooooo sorry if I offended you in my posting yesterday. Please forgive me, I should have looked at the guests in the thread first! :o

^_^ I had to re-read the thread to see where there was a spot where I could have possibly been offended.... took a bit... but no, I wasn't offended at all! It takes a LOT to offend me :D

Somehow I find this sooo interesting. Did some search on the internet under "chaplets". There was one site I could easily have LIVED on, there was so much information and beautiful rosaries, chaplets, bracelets, (there were even car rosaries!) So far I found "The Chaplet of St. Patrick" (12 beads, but there's usually a medal), "The Gate of Heaven Chaplet", which may also be known as "The Little Crown of 12 Stars" (there's 12 beads, but they are usually shaped liked stars and there's a medal), and The Medjugorje Peace Chaplet (12 beads, but Medjugorje isn't an approved apparition and again it has a medal), and even one about meditating on the 12 days of Christmas (but that's rather unusual). I thought I really had something with the "Heart of a Mother"--pink heart beads and a crucifix--but then I counted only 10 beads. This is a puzzle. Wonder if where you got your bracelet has a clue?

AMDG, can you share the site? I've found several with very interesting chaplets as well, but none that 'fits' mine. *L* I'll ask the cathedral shop where I bought it, but I doubt they'll have an idea. At least I can look there at similar rosary bracelets to see if they all have twelve beads or if this one is just a production error...

bigsierra, that first site of yours is the udayton.edu site and it is one of the sites that I went to. Another is http://www.rosaryworkshop.com/CHAPLETS-Index.html . Wow were the chaplets and rosaries pretty. And I found those "tenners" and "niners" really interesting.

The mystery has been solved!
While all of us have been looking into spiritual possibilities of what this rosary/ chaplet could be, etc, I found out that it actually simply is a case of 'mislabeling' the thing! It isn't a rosary, a chaplet nor a rosarybracelet, it simply is a bracelet! A pretty bracelet with hearts to remind us of the love Our Lord bears for us, and the crucifix as remembrance of his sacrifice. They had simply put the wrong labels on it.
