Could you change the Quiverfull Support forum to Christian-only? Non-Christians do not have the foundation necessary to contribute to it and often become very contentious there. It was intended to be a support forum, not a debate forum. Christian detractors can take up this issue in the Christian Apologetics forum, if they are so inclined. And moderators can move threads there, when appropriate (if Quiverfull is Christian-only).

Can we also define support? If it means blind uniform agreement....it should say so. I know the other support forums have a difference of opinion expressed and respect that...while still supporting the premise in their individual ways.

What is the harm in letting people that remain respectful the right to ask questions? Doesn't that help dispel myth and bad information and in fact give QF minded folks a forum to champion the cause?

This is the kind of post I am talking about. When a christian characterizes the defining terms of Quiverfull as "blind uniform agreement," that conversation is best held in the Christian Apologetics forum than QF Support (where those core terms are already understood without prior collaboration). Changing QF Support to Christian-Only would allow the moving of such a thread there.

When a christian tells a fellow christian that openly supports QF that she actually doesn't because it doesn't match his definition...then perhaps we need more clarification on whether it's for all supporters of QF or only those that subscribe to one person's particular narrow definition and interpretation of what QF means.

Moving such a debate to Christian Apologetics doesn't take away your right to question such things. It is just moves it to a more appropriate venue.

There is no question...I don't wish to debate any points. I merely pointed out that not everyone takes a legalistic view of QF.

It is not legalistic, because nobody has to be QF, if they don't want to be. But parents who are convicted about this do share some core values that you have openly challenged.

This (and the QF subforum) is not the place to air those questions...

Back to the OP,

You can see how this kind of debate can take over a forum where we would rather read and share tips about managing unusual-sized families, with other like-minded parents...

It is legalistic. You, personally, are trying to dictate a checklist of details in order to discuss ALL aspects QF. I agree that debating should not take place...but discussion is not debate....questioning is not debate.

I have not openly challenged a single value you share. I have discussed different aspects though. Again...what other support group on this board bans people from having a conflicting opinion? Having an opinion YOU don't share is not debate...but mere disagreement.

Like take the regular parenting support....I can't imagine having a problem with childless people asking questions. Now...childless people coming on telling us we were ruining the environment and kids are disgusting vile creatures...totally different. But what in the world is wrong with starting simple conversations about the various aspects of parenting...or for that matter, QF? I know that married people post on the singles board...and singles have come over and discussed things on the married board. Dialogue is not discord.

You're Entirely correct, and that's what I believe Sabertooth is trying to say. There have been a couple of posters on the QF forum that have been obnoxious and mean. They are there to create problems, not to ask normal questions.

It Would be helpful to At Least have the QF forum be Christian-only~ that way we'd all have the same basic frame of reference~ the Bible.
