I see it as we are all in this together, just being here in this time.
I understand that God likes to play hide and seek, from time to time giving us a wave, "Hi, over here". Just as long as we dont give up seeking, This I think gives Him most pleasure. So if anyone is seeking and interrupted by circumstances which he/she has no control over, then that must be seen as a merit. Worse is for the one who dosnt give two hoots, just me,myself and I .
