CF's new second image server now live! :)

I've just set up and launched CF's second image server.

As some may recall, a couple of weeks ago I set up CF with a separate server for images.

This server was fairly overworked. I've connected up another server to CF to act as a second image server.

It's now up and running! So far so good.

Let me know if you get any broken images or bugs.

CF should now run faster than ever!

This new server has ramped up the costs of running CF substantially - if you are a regular CF member and have not donated to become a Site Supporter yet, please consider doing this.

Also, Australian members can now do a direct funds transfer instead of using Paypal if they wish. Australian members can PM me regarding this.

Hey Erwin,

I updated the microphone icon in the Special Items area, but for those who have already purchased it, it did not update (the original was too big). The old file is microphone.gif and the new (correct) file is microphone2.gif

Not sure if this is related to the new image server or not, but it seems like when an image was corrected/updated, that it would work throughout CF. Hope that makes sense.

I've moved all the Armor Item images onto the new secondary CF server.

This means that images that are uploaded to the primary CF image server will only be updated on the secondary CF image server every 15 minutes.

There may be a gap of 15 minutes between uploading an image and for it to show up on CF pages.

This is necessary to reduce the load on the primary CF image server.

Just letting you know.

NOTE: It can take up to 15 minutes for an uploaded custom avatar to be activated as well since all custom avatars are now on the secondary image server.

The servers are so fast now I have to have... like... 4 different browsers open just to keep up.
