CF Upgrade Completed after 5 days of downtime!

I think Erwin is still fixing it.. he has not slept at all. trying to get it all together still.. Once he does, the site should be back to normal.. he said there were still a lot of bugs still.let me try a smilie thanks Erwin for staying up for us..

I want to apologize if my post sounded like I was complaining. I was actually just trying to see if the problem is my choice of computer or not. I can tell the amazing amount of time that has gone into debugging the upgrade. I have had to do similar work with upgrades to a relational database I use.

Another Firefox user here with serious scrolling issues. Plus, no images whatsoever, and very choppy loading. Erwin, you're my hero! Seriously, you have our heartfelt gratitude for taking on a job this enormous. Take your time dude, we'll try to be patient!! A ha... it seems to be the Reuptation lines that have an effect on the left/right scrolling. With no images, all that is left is the text part as place holders, and it takes up too much room on the individual lines.

Um... Your layout is not working on my computer. I have a whole bunch of red X's. Which, BTW, is stretching the page out really, really far. Like, the little reputation boxes are now two inch long boxes with a red X and 'so-and-so has so much reputation'. Pics in signatures work okay.

A note of some of the things I am experiencing; I have IE and it does this to me also - no word wrap however jn207 post is normal it seems. All of the icons and pictures are x's and it takes forever to enter into threads IE give me Line Errors -- several lines listed. Loading drags. I have not changed my settings since the last format of the board, so I am not sure if it is something new I need to adjust for? Or is it just error within? (Those are just for starters!)

Jn207's post looks normal but no images and not streched.. firefox users are different then the others, that is why you think you have problems worse then say me,, mine is like knowbeforetime's problems

When I cleared all my cookies and files from IE, it cleared all the red X's. I think IE was just confused...

One thing that's not quite right. When I go to the area that I normally use, (Baptist/Anabaptist) and I'm looking at the message list, it seems the text is a ALOT smaller that it used to be, and upping the text size in my browser doesn't change it a bit. I'm on 800x600 display. Can you make it a little bigger?


Also, it seems on my 800x600 display that the entire board is shifted to the right. I'm assume that's not normal either. Anyhow... if these were listed, I didn't notice..

Of course, my chararater (SP?) ain't working, my age, other stuff ain't working either. I have all my blessings.. thank goodness..

It's working good, earlier no images... i figured you were snoozing.

CF is finally running the latest version of the forum software!

It has been a long road... 12 hours of downtime dragged out into 5 full days... mainly because I grossly underestimated the time needed to recode all our special features.

To be perfectly honest, although the forums are working more or less, if you add the special features we have been using then CF is only really running at possibly 60%. There is still a lot of work to do.

Most of our special CF features are not working properly. These will take time to be brought back online. The past 5 days was basically just getting the BASIC forum software right.

The next week or so I will be concentrating on recoding our special features and ironing out the bugs.

So far, things that do not currently work properly are most of our special CF features:

1. PDA version
2. Radio
3. Weather
4. Guestbook
5. Blogs
6. Usenet
7. News
8. Email
9. CFIM
10. IRC
11. Custom
12. Bank
13. Armor
14. Pets
15. Jobs
16. Auction
17. Arcade
18. Staff Teams
19. Staff Moderating Features
20. Site Supporter Features
21. ChrisBot

Some of the above work but not properly. It will take me a while to recode all of the above.

The good news is that the following work:

1. Chatbox (now with instant refresh!)
2. Blessing others
3. Searching thread titles (slave server)
4. Bible search
5. Refer friends
6. CF Map
7. CF Attachments (took a while to make it work with attachment server!)
8. Posting

There are some new nifty features including the quick reply, quick
edit, and the ability to donate for another member!

Don't forget that I also upgraded all the server software, and updated the graphics and style of the forums too.

It's now 2:32 am, and I have to get to bed to go to an elders meeting in the morning. It has been a stressful Monday to Friday!!! But I am sure you would agree that it has been worth it.

Great stuff but i have black borders either side of the forum and the text looks squished, can I change it somehow?
