The 3rd stage of the CF reforms are about to be implemented, but they will be the HARDEST to carry out, basically because they are the most radical.
They will hopefully address multiple issues, including:
1. Confusing rules
2. Protestant vs Catholic conflict
3. Liberal vs Conservative conflict
4. Perceived staff abuse of power
5. Perceived lack of moderating transparency
6. Disempowerment of members
7. An unwieldy and clumsy moderating protocol/appeals system
CF has grown quickly over the past 4 years or so from a small community into the world's largest online Christian community.
What worked for us when we were small no longer works for us with over 150,000 members and almost 100 staff. We basically need more staff and our governance structure needs to be decentralised.
Staff teams need to work more independently, but there has to be a reporting system up the chain of command so that there is accountability.
As it is, the current staff structure has grown in an ad hoc manner due to the growth we have had. The rules have been the same and have evolved out of necessity rather than planning.
To this end, the current third and FINAL stage of the CF reforms will be very very very radical and revolutionary.
I won't post the details until I have given staff 24 hours to absorb the proposed changes. But it will involve demoting ALL staff to TRAINEE mods and starting over with a whole new structure and a whole new team of Alpha members.
Also, a whole set of new rewritten new rules, and appeal rules, and staff protocol.
Please be patient as we start to implement this in about 24 hours time or so...
