CF Reform being planned

I know how you feel Lanakila...I too haven't been posting here as much for the last few months...the rules have gotten so bad that I'm afraid to post hardly anything at all...for fear that somehow someone will take offense to it and I get another warning


I too used to be a mod here and I remember you being a mod


let me ask you though?...were you treated badly by a few mods here that were friendly to you while you were a mod...and now don't even talk to you anymore at all?...and not even pm you back?...because thats how I have been treated...I have several mods here that never have answered pms from me...and many of them were from months ago!

I simply want to point out that there is not a vast majority that are calling for reform, as one has been led to believe.

And the reason for that may be they chose to quit, rather than fight, or argue with it. You can be assured there are many with ruffled feathers who would rather not rock the boat, and would rather just post meaningless, frivolous posts rather than get into trouble again. I don't believe they are in such a "minority" at all.

Everyone, can we please get back on the topic? This thread seems to be suffering from "drift"

I was like that for 2 years as a Christian and even a moderator here. But, the rules keep getting longer, and more expanded and with the forum specific rules and how strict it is on posting on certain issues (the gay issue specificially) conversation is limited and stiffled. No flaming wasn't enough, it had to be made so specific that you can't even call what someone states silly any longer, even if it is. I don't know about you Iddie but limiting conversation to this degree in real life would bore me to tears. Frankly between being afraid I'll break some rule, or the spirit of it somehow has kept me away for months and months at a time. That and the boring stiffled conversation that is so unlike real life too.

I do remember you Lana. The point I was trying to make was, That, even tho we do have alot of rules. CF CANNOT be a free for all. Limiting the insults and jabs needs to be done. This has gone on way to long for many members to be able to post something and not be attacked for it. I have born the brunt of many others private insults and threats because they didn't agree with me. Something has to give somewhere. I agree that the rules could be more effectively streamlined, But, Rules are necessary for anything. Be it real society or a website. If a revamp is necessary to do this, I am all for it.
We just need to give Erwin the time he needs to do this and do it in the way he feels is right. I support him fully.

While I recognize that there are some valid concerns that can be addressed, I would encourage staff to be ever mindful of the verifiable fact that it is but a vocal minority who are sharing concerns, many of whom agreed to begin a concerted protest/"call for reform" on Memorial Day (May 30th.)

I'd like to point out that I never used such a word (although I've been accused of such). There are others who are drawing those conclusions. I have merely pointed out verifiable facts, but not once have I made an accusation of conspiracy.

WesleyJohn I think many here are just playing with it .... Although there are also many that believe that the reform being asked for is necessary .... We do not believe that there is a Conspiracy on CF... Far from that

I think in actuality that as any forum grows changes need to be made to accomodate the inevitable changes that come along with the growth....

Sometimes people have a hard time with change because they are so used to what is comfortable to them that it is hard to work into something new... I think that our Moderators and our Administrators have to be given to some extent the lattitude in this area. As far as they are concerned, as soon as something becomes comfortable ti is being expected to be changed and I expect that most of them are weary....

It does not negate the present fact that the change still needs to take place, I think that we all just need to give them our concerns about the issues are and then Pray for them to then be guided properly .....

There are LOTS of members not complaining at all. One could safely deduce it's because they don't have a problem with the moderating or if they do it's not something that they let run their lives. THEY are in the majority.
