The high contrast overpowers the globe and might stand out more than you want on the page. Try a tiny bit of transparent blending mode on it, to soften. The globe of images is beautiful.

Gwen, I like the sketchiness of your globe -- I think it will fit in well when it's placed on the page.

I would love to see FriarErasmus' awesome nail cross and text superimposed on Suzybeezy's beautiful globe background (without its current text). I think these two would look beautiful together. It's possible the coloring of the wording might have to be changed a bit to make it work, but I really think they would make a beautiful combined piece.

I'm not sure I like this merging, and I couldn't find any color that worked with the design. Overall, it looked washed out to me. And too busy... I guess I really just fall back to my original nail cross... It was my first inspiration. Yours looks great, and I like mine, but together just didn't seem to work as well as I had hoped.

I like concept and think that looks pretty good.

Friar, I love the blue nav bar!! (I know, all your time went into the other things... just didn't want to neglect to mention it.)

I couldn't find any color that worked with the design.

Pick up a darker version of the turquoise in the globe, or use an opposite color like you did with the tan.

The gold font is pretty; needs to stand out a little clearer.
I love Suzybeezy's image, and think it's worth continuing variations on. The nail has a similar style, so it works well with it.

Thanks for trying that! I think it looks great! I do agree with the poster above, though, about perhaps using a very dark shade of the teal or turquoise for the title. But then again, I love teal! I can see, though, how it might wash out. It would have to be quite dark, I think.

BTW, it sounded like you may have thought that SuzyBeezy was the one asking to combine these. Actually, it was me - just a spectator awestruck with the beautiful quality of the work here. I say this because I didn't want you to think that SuzyBeezy was trying to somehow take over your work.

I also really like your new image. One thing nice, though, about the combined one is that it has a nicely balanced male/female quality to it. The nails and text bring out the masculine, while SuzyBeezy's globe has a soft feminine quality to it.

Since we are a gender-mixed group, I think it represents CF well, without being overly heavy on either side.

I knew that SuzyBeezy was not the one requesting the mix... that was why I donated the mix version to her (I did not get her permission, so I felt it best that she get the prize should it win). I just had also wanted to see what it would look like.

I agree about the Masculine/Feminine aspect being important, but sometimes, I think that in design, if one tries too hard to be at a middle ground, the whole of the work ends up not looking striking in any way. I will try to come up with one more design, that may have a greater touch of feminine to it, but I think I am done with the mash of the two logos. Should anyone else want to continue to try to mash these two, I can provide the PSD file to that person, and they can play to their heart's content. I only ask one thing: If I provide this file to someone, they are only to use the images for the purpose of trying to mesh the two designs, and agree not to use just the background or just the cross, or just the text, or any individual component to design an entirely new logo.

You're right, I think. Your last entry is incredibly striking, and, on a gut level, I like it better than the mix. I sure hope you didn't think I was being critical or anything. You do absolutely amazing work!
