Did anyone else notice the low voter turnout on who'd be the next mods?

I think I have an explanation. On the 5th I was informed that I had been nominated. When I read the email I thought: "Oh yeah, like they'll ever want that!" The next day I read a post in which the results of the election were announced! I've heard of the proverbial snowball in the hot place, but never combined with a railroad.

I hate to play prophet (although I seem to have been one already :liturgy: ) but I can tell you how this is going to turn out. The 19+ (of the not one in twenty) will decree that they are the true and only real SDA and anyone who disagrees with them will be harassed and finally kicked out of the forum.

I feel like starting a new religious denomination. We'll call ourselves The Remnant. Same beliefs of the SDA church but you don't get to sit on your tush in the pew and you must return an honest tithe (as verified by your tax returns--and if we catch you cheating on that we'll turn you in to the IRS). It'll be smaller, but without the dead weight ...

What are you talking about? No election results for mods have been determined yet. So far only one election poll has been set up (for countrydoc), and it has not closed yet. You have been nominated and seconded:

You should accept or decline your nomination in that thread. If you accept, the mods will start a poll and a Q&A thread for you.

I think that church already exists. It meets in your house.

You do realize, don't you, that the early Christan churches met in private houses. And even today in many parts of the world poor people met at someone's home for church. So, your intended insult doesn't work and doesn't reflect well on your concept of church.

BTW, in my neck of the woods it also means I could strt up an offshot SDA movement and get ab't 100 members just from word-of-mouth to other SDA's virtually overnight. We had two separate attempts to start a new church and both failed because of the back-biters and nay-sayers.

I forgot to add that we'd have intensive Bible study classes along the lines of the Moody Bible Institute course on Romans (if you haven't taken it, do so--it is great!).

The problem DJ--is that the federal income tax is a fraud and is illegal and the Federal Reserve is no more a government institution than Federal Express.

If the ppl don't return their tithe--the Holy Spirit will take care of them in due time.;)

Well, thank you for calling my post an "intended insult."

We've dealt with the income tax is illegal on other forums. They ignore any and all evidence to the contrary.

Ab't income taxes see http://www.apfn.org/apfn/16th.htm

"Because the sixteenth amendment was duly certified by the Secretary of State, because defendants have not alleged that the minor variations in capitalization, punctuation and wording of the various state resolutions are materially different in purpose or effect from the language of the congressional joint resolution proposing adoption of the sixteenth amendment, and because the sixteenth amendment has been recognized and acted upon since 1913, the Court rejects defendants' argument that the sixteenth amendment is not a part of the United States Constitution."

DJ, you would've loved the church I grew up in (Baptist). The preacher would say "I'm going to pass around the collection plate and the Lord has commanded that you tithe 10% of your income....and remember people, that's before taxes!"
How long will we continue to misrepresent the good Lord. I want someone to prove to me that when I provide my employer with 40 hrs a week and in exchange he gives me a salary that the salary he gives to me is an increase by any definition of the word.
