Erwin, you might ask one of the staff members intricatic to help with database problems and setting things up. He is very knowledgable on things like that.

CF Crashed again today! I tried to log on at 7.30am today, but CF waasn't accessable, I continued to try and get on and only succeeded in getting on CF at 10.30am. CF was down for a good 3 1/2hrs!

I've only been in CF for a few days, and I love this place!

However, there is one thing that sorta bothers me, the pages take forever to load, and I have DSL! I feel sorry for anyone using dial-up and tries to navigate through CF.

I would suggest that CF might want to find a server that can handle the traffic load. I'm not sure if CF is currently on a shared server? But, I'm thinking that maybe a dedicated server would be the way to go? It's costly, but I willing to help support CF. In fact yesterday I became a site supporter, and this morning when I tried to log into CF, hmmmmm
well, you know the rest of the story.

Hi David!

Welcome to CF.

CF does in fact have dedicated servers, more than one in fact.

Since CF is one of the largest forums on the web, it gets an extreme amount of traffic.

Erwin and his technical people have upgraded servers more than once, and they are currently in the process of building up a new database server.

It's true that CF has it's fair amount of crashes, but I think it must be frustrating to Erwin when he upgrades to new hardware and has continued problems.

We all need to pray for CF and be patient to give Erwin the time he needs to complete the current upgrades.

BTW, last nights outages were due to some of the work they've been performing on the database servers.
