CF Database Errors

Hi all

Just letting everyone know that CF has been extra busy in 2007 and we are getting a lot of members which has put a strain on our database, causing it to crash a few times.

This has affected primarily the newer members, causing some to lose their blessings when the database crashes, and is then rebuild. My apologies to these members - the tech, Steve, is working to try to fix this both from a software perspective and looking at hardware.

If you have lost your blessings, please PM [name]Lighthearted[/name] who will fix your account for you.

Again, I want to apologise for the problems - we are working on it.

It seems some people (not me) have also lost their entire account due to corruption of the database - armory items, blessings, reputation, post count, avatar, everything.

Will those people be able to get their accounts restored in full?

PM Lighthearted. (Just click on the name Lighthearted that I put in the last sentence, it is a link that will take you to her home page, directly on the left of the page about half way down is a section that has Private Message in it. click on that and it will open up a Private message box to Lighthearted. Just put in how many blessings you lost and she will help you out as soon as she can.

We have had to shut down our search database server - because of the high loads on our normal database, it seems the slave can't keep up, causing errors to occur on the master database.

For the moment, searching, daily/new posts are down as they are read off the search.

Sorry for this - the techs are looking at some options.
