CF Chat room driving me nuts!

Okay I tried to download mIRC for the chat room here at CF, but it didn't work. I tried Sun Java, that didn't work. Am I doing something wrong here? I installed them both correctly, then I went to try the chat room and my computer still froze. Am I missing a step? Or can I just never use the chat room?

Could it be the problem is with your computer? I dunno, can't think of anything else.

What did mIRC do to you that it didn't work? It just froze your computer?

Doesn't sound like it's anything you're doing.

Try Bersirc ...

well I downloaded mIRC then I instaled it and I was fine. I went to CF and logged into the chat room. As soon as it connected my computer froze again as it had been doing before. I am unsure as to why.

Or oyu could download trillian - which has mIRC built into it.

It also has MSN, AIM, ICQ and Y! type stuff - one handy IM program for all those messenger ones out there

Trillian didn't work either, but I kept it cause I like the messenger feature.

Any other ideas?
