Cessationism

I understand that Calvin was a Cessationist, but I find it to be rather unscriptural. What are thoughts of other reformers?

I agree entirely.
Cessationism wasn't as much of an issue then, and the other reformers didn't say too much, as far as I know.
It was first really developed as a doctrine by Benjamin Warfield in the Nineteenth Century - who has been acclaimed as one of the greatest exegetes of the nineteenth century. He approached it in the same way as he did false miracles, faith healing, or anything generally unchristian and supernatural.

Um Calvin wasn't Cessationlist, in the way of God leaveing man it was more in the way of Man lacking Faith, so it stoped.

Are you sure? This is a quote from Institutes:

"The gift of healing, like the rest of the miracles, which the Lord willed to be brought forth for a time, has vanished away in order to make the new preaching of the Gospel marvelous forever."

Well thats what i was lead to belive, by an other source which i read ages ago, that always qutoed Calvin, if i could find it i would post it. It might take a few days but i'll try and find it.
