Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.
I never said she was SDA.
Why was it locked? The official reason given will be it's because the report thread was being discussed.
I say it is just more crushing out of free speech.
If I am going to be banned for another month, my friends in here are going to know the real story behind it.
When you joined the forum did you affirm that you would abide by their rules?
People change thier minds. Rules can be changed. There is no law that says change cannot happen.
There is a sad lack of transparency with this forum. All preventing people from discussing reports here does is cause more distrust with the mods and with the system. And this anonymous, privacy, secrecy stuff with reports and reporting is B.S. and breeds paranoia.
It needs to change.
stop complaining, you voted these people in vote them out.

Well then, I hope someone with more people skills and finesse will step up and rally this change. Because as it stands now, I am not going to be here long it looks like.
I have done nothing but bring the issues to the forefront of everyone's attention, my ban will be worth it.
Flaming, baiting, trolling, or feeding trolls is not allowed. This also applies to groups. In other words, play nice, don't hurt others, nor call them names.
If you think you are being flamed, choose *not* to be offended, but instead take a break, and communicate, rather than escalating or accusing others.
Use the brain God gave you. Think before you post. Think about how your post may affect someone else.
Issues with staff decisions should be taken to the staff member, then the reconciliation team, period. Don't post them, don't PM them to others, don't take them to Lee
FreeinChrist, no offense meant here, but if we were to act upon your last comment, not ONE word would be typed in this entire forum.I have to admit that I am rather flabbergasted at some of the posts I have seen from some who are Traditional and some who are Progressive.
Paul wrote this:
Eph 4:29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such {a word} as is good for edification according to the need {of the moment,} so that it will give grace to those who hear. Eph 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Eph 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
It seems that some posts are made to get that little zinger in against a person that the writer is angry with. Some are written and surely the writer MUST know it will not be received well.
The site wide rules contain the following:
Some posts make me shake my head - where is Christ in that post? answer - He isn't there.
Posts that are filled with the word "YOU" and go on to complain about that 'you' are often problematic - as in a flame. Posts aimed at not letting another perosn get away with something (you say that, I'm gonna say this) are usually problematic as well.
And the rules also include this:
You may disagree with some decisions - and there is a way to deal with that besides breaking more rules. I see alot of posts with "those trads are trying to ...." and "those progs" - seems rather odd to me. Speaking for myself (but I am sure for the other two mods of the Progressive area) , I don't care who reports it, the report is looked at. If there is a pattern of reporting posts that are not violations - then that is spite reporting and will be dealt with. And whether the person who is flaming or baiting is traditional or progressive or a nonSDA guest here, it makes no matter to me. But it seems that if folks posted with Christ in mind, then there wouldn't need to be a rule that states:

Because there is ALWAYS someone who is going to take offense at what someone else says no matter how benign it is. This is just a fact of life. I really think people in general are just getting so dang 'touchy', that they cannot tolerate the least little perceived unkindness. It's really beyond ridiculous.
I doubt He would have gotten an infraction. And He didn't just go around and rebuke everybody, calling them names. He did rebuke the pharisees and the scribes -And as far as having Jesus in our posts, I agree, He should be more present in our thoughts. But lets not forget that Jesus never held back a well placed rebuke. I think on several occasion's that He would even have drawn an infraction from some of you.

but what about the woman with 5 husbands. How gentle was "go and sin no more" as compared to "you hypocrites" that he used with the Pharisees? Did He get in the tax collectors face or eat dinner with him?
We are not in the position of authority that He is. He is the head. We are the body and we are fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and need to see each other as equals in that regard.
