  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yep, I have that one, too~ with VerizonWireless for another year. Hey~ how do I get time/date of the person calling? I also have ID caller, but I've no idea how to set it up, so I can see who's calling me. Help?

1. Menu, down to Call Log, choose either your missed calls, received calls, or dialed calls, scroll to the persons name/or number and click Options, then Select Call Time. You can use the up and down buttons to show all the times and dates of that phone number.

2. As for you caller ID it should automatically show who is calling when they call, I don't think there is an option to turn it on or off. It's possible that you just don't have caller ID in your area or people are calling from blocked numbers. I would contact Verizon using *226 on your phone (it's airtime free) and contact customer support.

most mobile providers have the option to block off your number if your phone is stolen....

what's this verizon thing?
Verizon is one of the largest telephone companies in the United States.

ADDED: Also, all verizon has to do is take out the phone's ID# from your account and it it rendered useless until the phone is activated again by a cell phone provider, this way even if your phone is stolen or missing it can't be used on your account.

Also, before you call them, try updateing your phone using *228 ......you will need to listen to the prompts and update both options (phone update and roaming update), but you will have to do them seperatly.
What were the updates for? (Phone & roaming)

~Lori

I've updated, but they didn't say what the update entails. hmmm.

First, the *228 as far as I know is for Verizon Wireless customers......One of the options is to update your phones programming and the other is to update the roaming/service (this updates your phone to communicate with new towers in the area). The updates don't tell you what they are updateing because it would be meaningless to anyone that would try to decifer it.

Sony Ericsson T62u

Have the insurance, my phone can get stolen, I can loose it, run over it, drown it, wash it ( oh yeah have about six times now  ) and I just have to go down to cingular and pick up my new one.
Hehehe, I ran mine over once, had to pay $40 to have the display replaced and a month later it died totally and they gave me another phone, lol......

Who's your cell service provider? If you really want to know what happened to your phone they should be able to look at your account and see what your phone's ID # was and trace it when it's activated by someone else.
I have T-Mobile. I never thought about the phone ID # though. But how would they know if someone used it for another phone company's service?

I know that since I've been using T-Mobile, my phones have been controlled by SIM cards. And all I have to do is take my sim card and put it in any other phone and all my information is transferred from one phone to the other. (I did have them deactivate the SIM card in my stolen phone so that no one could use it.)
