  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Lord said it is good for a man to wait to marry if he can, but also that none are good but God. I guess God has held me to celibacy for 30 years. The Lord did also say man has his own will. I'm 52. I started to read a book on strategy but its context shares views on strategic approaches to marketing, still I think I can pull some useful info to use in the context of service. Strategy may need to change over time, so, through the years. Priest are now near encouraged to marry. I'm Christian, not Catholic. It's 30 years of 'good works'. Another book I read was specifically on Celibacy and it was suggested that Secular Religions have issues with celibacy. Those include sports departments that are communal, so, involved with the community. I would figure cults are a subcategory of Secular Religions and that might be a window boundary beyond sports departments. Thanks for hearing my thoughts on such works. I do accept there is a need to be careful not to boast good works, but so many congregations are imed at building families and ensuring their kids have the best associations in the eyes of those they judge the best influences.
