Cd-roms?

Anyone else here a big enough nerd to collect those annoying free throw-away CD's that AOL and others have everywhere?

You know the ones, they are encased in bright graphics and say something like, "1 Million free hours if you sign up now!"

I have quite a collection ranging back to 1996.

yes, I was collecting those too. But recently I started to just toss them away as they came to me. They'll probably be useful or valuable some day--maybe I should find a little corner someplace to stash them...

I have a little plastic bin in a corner of a closet and whenever I get one, I toss it into the bin. I figure by the time I retire, they'll be worth something, and since they cost me nothing, it will be pure profit!

oh i sooooo wish i would have kept them. there were some really good ones a while back in tiin containers and such. that would be sooo cool to show my kids. this here was when aol 2.0 was out. and they are like wow daddy that was 80 versions ago!!! lets instal it on our computer to see what its like!!!

I have AOL 2.7 for Mac on floppy from 1986. It won't seem to work on my G3. Anyone know why?

I watched on TV a long time ago that someone used all his throw away CDs into to decorate his house.

lol me too! My dad has a lot back to '96 also. Its a pain! i just want to throw them out..hes not even using them! oy oy! But ya dont know when they might be worth something...hmmm....

Yes... I have some from back when they were on floppies and version 2.7 with amazing 14.4 dial-up modem speeds!
