  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is so funny, I was just coming to make a cloth diapering chat thread when I saw Jan's. ^_^

Anyway, let's make this a place to discuss cloth diapering. What's your fave diaper? Where do you get most of your diapers? Pockets, AIO, PF, Fitted...what's your poison? How long have you been cd'ing? Did you ever use disposables?

:tutu: Let's chat, mommas!

It looks like my DD is going to be using Bum Genius 3.0's and prefolds with Bummis Super Whisper Wrap covers. At least that's what she had decided the Last time I talked to her. :p

I'm using disposables right now, but man, looking at these cloth dipes again is giving me the bug to buy some! I'm leaning towards contour diapers in wraps... the organic Imse Vimsie look so soft! My DH is going to flip if I start spending money on cloth diapers again... ^_^

I tried cloth diapering with my first baby and bought the Gerber prefolds. Big mistake, we quickly went to disposables. When I had my son 4 years later I wanted to try the CD route again and bought some Fuzzi Bunz pocket diapers. They worked great and I liked them but wasn't a great fan of the snaps - was a pain for me to try and snap them with a mobile baby trying to escape :D I also wanted to look into a One Size diaper because I didn't want to have to keep buying diapers as my son out grew the next size. So when my son grew out of the small FB I decided on the bumGenius One Size pockets. I've been using the BG on my older son for almost 18 months now and I love them. What I love most though is that I'm using the same diapers on my 2 month old as well now so not only have I halfed my diapering costs but I've also saved space by not having two sizes at the same time.

I have a few different brands that I use: Itti Bitti D'Lish, Baby Beehinds fitted and AIO and Pea Pods. I'm not a huge fan of the fitteds with a cover. I'm used to the ease of the AIO style nappies. My fave at the moment is the itti... they are SO cute and little. They aren't much bigger than a disposable!

I really want to try the BG 3.0 one size and Haute one size. I don't really want to get heaps more sized nappies, i think for the larger babies the OSFM would be fine.

We went to my IL for dinner last night and Maddie decided to do a HUGE poo in her cloth nappy, so we changed her and put it in a bag to bring home. But when we got home i completely forgot about it. So I had to deal with it this morning...UGH UGH UGH. It stank even more than it usually does!!!

Oooohh... I am so totally addicted to nappies!

ROFL. I have to laugh at this.

I am so OVER nappies already.

I had ds in nappies for 3 years, now dd is in nappies still - she's 3 years 1 month ROFL. I am so over them.

Not that this is what this thread is about.

To answer your question - I use cloth nappies/diapers. I prefer the flat nappies (I think they are called prefold) no problems at this end with folding/pinning etc.

I use disposables for outings, and night, and the days when I am over nappies. which has been a lot lately, I guess I just want dd toilet trained but she's not really ready yet, so I have to let her do her thing and wait I guess.

Hehe Neenie!!! I guess we are coming to it from different perspectives!!!
Ask me in 3 or 4 years how I feel about the nappies! ;)

I seriously have to invest in some liners, preferably flushable... We used to stock them at work... I'll have to see if I can get some in.

I have several of the BG's I'm fixing to list on Diaperswappers because they don't do well with pudgy thighs...at ALL! I'm a big fan of the Haute pockets and the fuzzi bunz. I am DYING to have a Goodmama but I'm having a hard time paying that much for a dipe, plus they are virtually IMPOSSIBLE to catch in stock. I have a chunky monkey on the way and I can't wait to try it!

I'm still crazy about my imse vimse fitteds. :D I love to fleece cover them! :D

You're getting rid of BG's?
When, where.. send me the deets! LOL I'm on DS too!

I have a friend who is interested in CD'ing once her little boy or girl is here (we find out hopefully this week which she's having) in Dec/Jan.

We did disposables until the timeframe that JD's umbilical stub fell off, and we found out he was severely allergic to his diapers.

I really do love the BG 3.0s so much. He's still on the first snap. He's just got such a tiny hiney right now, and is built like I was in that dept. He's a skinny, but very tall little guy.

DH'll probably want to take a rubber mallet to my head if I so much as suggest more diapers, even if it is for someone else. LOL

My MIL said after seeing the BG 3.0s and how well they work and how happy JD is with them, she's more than happy to change him and send home a wetbag with us anytime she looks after him (of which I am really happy!). I just upped my stash a bit when I found a lady testing new wetbags on DS, and I went ahead and ordered one, they're just too cute!

I have so many diapers right now, enough I can go almost a week and a half on my stash without washing. Now, that's not that I want to do that.. but I could. I keep a small lot over at my inlaws (I think they have 8 diapers over there right now) and I keep 6 in a bag in my livingroom for days that JD doesn't want to go out of that room, and I keep 4 or 5 at all times in our diaper bag and the rest in our hallway right outside the bathroom so I can grab and go (We're still setting up house - so I haven't dedicated areas as much as I would like).

I would have possibly thought of prefolds, if my hands worked better than they do. As is, I have problems with JD's snaps on his outfits a lot of times when I have bad days. I did however order some snappis so I can use them to swaddle him better with his blankets. He's now over 27 inches long, and is getting crafty about getting out of his swaddle so he can stay awake just ---><--- that much longer.

He's really loving his cloth diapers, and has gotten really fun at diaper change time. He started just this month to lift his rear before I go to remove his diaper from under him, and when I go to put the new one under to wrap him in. (most the time)

We talk and play at diaper change time, unless he's having a bad day.

Wow... HadassahSukkot... you have LOTS of nappies!!! My husband would kill me if I had that many!!! :D
I have 16 nappies... with 2 that i really don't like and another 3 that are meh... So I use 11 of them all the time. I really want to get some more nappies. I'm finding that if I don't wash daily or at least every second day, they aren't dry (it's winter over here) for the next day... so I don't have enough to get me through. I still use disposables at night. DH uses disposables when he is out, but will use the cloth when he is home. He'll only use the AIO's though or the pre stuffed pockets... none of the fitteds and a cover business!!! ;)

With everyone's talk about the BG, I want to try them more now!

Jessesgirl, the haute are good??? Do you have the old style ones or the new breathables???

LOLOL I'm terrible, aren't I? :sorry: It has been really bad the last couple of weeks because this whole cd thing has become my outlet!

I just ordered two fleece covers from chubby cheeks. One has a helicpter and the other has an airplane.

HD, what's your sn on DS and I'll send you a link. These are the 2.0 BG but I'm just really not digging them. They have the velcro and J has gotten very good at manipulating the velcro! :o

Anyway, LMK if you want these. I'm putting brand new velcro on all of them before I get rid of them. They are great for someone who has kiddos without the chunky monkey syndrome.

That being said, I think I'm more a fitted kinda gal! ;)

I am cloth diapering two littles right now. It is hard beacuse the baby is apparently a super soaker and I think I need different inserts because those are two small and he saturates them and then his onesie becomes damp. I like the money I am saving!

Is it alot harder or alot more work to have more than one in nappies???
