Okay. There's this awesome speaker, Damon Thompson. Heard of him? Maybe not. Well, he tells everything JUST HOW IT IS. He doesn't sugarcoat anything just to please the people listening to him. Anyway, getting to my point, this past week I was at The Ramp (Karen Wheaton's youth ministry of whom Damon travels with) and he made a comment about contemporary christian music being "worldly" music three years late. So many contemporary artists are just trying to appeal to the industry now. We know what ccm will sound like in three years, what the world's music sounds like now!

Just thought I would share that statement anyone agree?

(I'm hearing him again tonight. Whoo!)

Pretty much, he's right. Styles along the lines of secular music (although, I'd say the gap is more like two years, but still), with sugar-coated "Jesus is my boyfriend" lyrics.

And, much like the secular artists, there's always the gems among the garbage.

Agreed. Most CCM is just a regurgitated secular ripoff of some stylistically equal counterpart.
