what is a haiku? Only God knows and not I, no not I, not I.
It is Japanese poetry. It rarely rhymes but it must have 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second, and 5 syllables in the last for a total of 17. Read some of the great examples below.

Oh, we used to love doing these things in highschool. We had an English teacher who made us keep a Creative writing journal. She required three entries per week. On the day it was due, we would all write three haikus at lunch right before the class. It was hilarious. She would get so mad but she couldn't punish the whole class.
