Caution to My Fellow Progs

This is not aimed at any specific person but is a general statement about how things have been going in this forum. I think it's a shame there is so much conflict over this subforum due to trads reporting and such, but I think it's an even greater shame that we make so many new threads about it. When I first joined this website I created a thread called "Why the Antagonism?" because nearly half of the threads I saw were retaliation against trads for reporting or some other abuse. It isn't that I don't agree we should have better rules to prevent this abuse, but the way we let it get us so upset I don't agree with.

There are several threads I simply don't bother getting involved in anymore. And it's not because I don't have a strong opinion about it, but because I wouldn't be helping anyone or anything, but my ego, by saying what I think. I just hope maybe we all can think about that. I'm sorry if this sounded like a sermon because I don't mean to patronize anyone, but if anyone has noticed my inactivity on here over the last couple days that is why.

Andrew--just so you know--your people come over to the trad area and do just as much reporting as you are claiming the we do. I think the field is pretty well even on that account. But as you say-the BIG difference is that you don't see us starting 50 new threads whining about it.

I don't see Andrew as one who is trying to point a finger at either side, but as one who would like to encourage all of us to just simply act like Christians and stop all of this foolishness of hurting each other.

I think that is a good idea.

given that the process is now private you don't know that for a fact..... I doubt very seriously that people go to the traditional section, the traditionals barely use that section themselves.... it is onesided and it is not the progressive camp that is waging war in the progressive section, nor the traditional section....

Dont get me wrong, i have no problem with that. as long as everyone practices the forum rules, i have no problem with anyone posting anywhere. Like i said, as long it follows forum rules and everyone behaves themselves.

reading is not the problem.... the problem would be if they began to bait, flame and report what is being posted there.... that is not happening like it is here... IMO....

Actually, posts in there have been reported on many occasions.

I dont believe in reporting anyone, unless their intent is evil or improper for this type of forum. I feel we can all have a friendly discussion no matter what we believe and show love through our sharing of truth and fellowship. If we cannot love our brother or sister here, then what will we do in eternal life... the answers is, we wont be there...

So we really need to do some research before posting something as fact when it isn't.

I do go read over there, although if I were to 'snoop', as you say, I would log out first. But I don't log out. And I have NEVER reported ANYTHING from the TRAD area. I could count my reports in the past year with only my fingers. When you see my name in the TRAD area, it's because I don't mind at all if you do. But I have noticed that there's not much action over there, and I'm reluctant to post anything because of the inevitable reporting. It's not exactly a forum open to discussion unless you already agree with everything that is said. Consequently that's why false ideas and teachings are allowed to flourish, because there is no opportunity to hold accountable those who promote certain lines of thought without being reported and having your posts deleted. It's much like the main forum where TRAD's are allowed to post whatever they want without any accountability.

I am speaking fact.... other than Night, who else would visit your area and reports anything? There really isn't that much going on.... since discussion cannot take place there Night has come to this area and started threads... last I checked that is allowed.... and as I said, since the reporting is now hidden from view how do you know who is reporting?

I have already said I have made many reports from that area. I have never tried to hide that. Not one of them was offensive in nature. They have all been defensive and in retaliation to the reports given to me. It is not for 'snooping' purposes, as I really could care less what you talk about over there. Doesn't interest me in the least. In fact, if it wasn't for necessity in the war against harrassment in here, I would never be over there and have to feel like I have to take a shower afterwards to wash off the intolerance.

If you want it to stop, simply stop reporting us. But, of course, Woob has already stated he will be reporting any and everything I say that he deems offensive. So, you can expect more Honor. Much more. I already have PM's from two people who have said they plan to take affirmative action with thier report finger until the Trads stop coming in here to cause problems.

And, since we now have it on good authority from two mods that mass reporting is not against the rules and Woob will not be held accountable for doing it, what is good for the Trads is good for the Progs.

I see no one takes the time to notice that it was Woob who made the first report in this whole recent mess. But of course, that is ignored in favor of blaming the Progs.

Since you seem to be a person witha trigger finger when it comes to reporting members I don't understand why you enter a section where the chances are you will come across views that you disagree with and that will offend you? I just want people to be more polite about sharing them with me.
