  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just thought I'd do a quick update on how I'm managing my scrupulosity, and such. Yesterday, we had a reconciliation service at my current parish, and while I did have my sins written down, this time I decided instead of reading them off my list, I would simply tell them to the priest, trusting that I would keep them in my mind out of love for God. Likewise, I had made a habit of doing an examination of conscience every morning and evening, and I have decided that if I miss it, I'd miss it, and would wait until my next scheduled time. Overall, I'm trying to trust in God more, as well testing me own conscience to see how well-formed it really is

I'm also doing a couple of other practices at the moment that help with scrupulosity, when I sin and I don't know whether it's mortal or venial, I'll often turn to Our Lady and ask her to be my Prophetess for me and tell me whether or not it's mortal, with her, I know for certain I will not be receiving back any demonic deception. Also, I'm currently doing Fr. Michael E. Gaitley's 33 Days to Merciful Love for the Feast of Divine Mercy, which based off of Saint Therese of Lisieux's Oblation to Merciful Love and it, combined with a set of Youtube videos I stumbled across (see below) has got me interested in St. Therese of Lisieux, and her Little Way. I'm currently trying to do little things, like my college work, out of Love for God, and I have been told that taking this attitude is very similar to St. Therese of Lisieux's Little Way, so I'm going to take a closer look at her and her spirituality, I've got to say, what I've heard about her so far, I really like!

There's more I could talk about, (like St. Alphonsus' The Glories of Mary) but this post as gone on way longer than I originally planned. For now, I'll just leave everyone with these videos on St. Therese and the importance of being able to S. M. I. L. E.

It's really good that you're doing all this. A couple months ago, I did 33 Days to Morning Glory, also by Fr. Michael Gaitley, and it was very transformative! I'd never even heard of Marian consecration before doing that course, and in a month, I had so much more confidence in Our Lady than I'd ever even thought about!
For now, I'm trying to memorize the Hail Mary in Latin. Ave Maria, plena de grace--no, wait, that's French. Okay, Ave Maria, gratia plena, dominus tecum. Benidicta, uhh, oh, shoot. (Is this where I say fructus juicus?)
It's coming along.^_^

I started learning the Hail Mary in Latin after I felt called to start listening to the Rosary in Gregorian chant (visit Our Website of the Videos & look it up, there's Latin rosaries with all the mysteries available for free--I play it as I go to sleep). Really, playing that on my tablet makes the entire room feel like a holy place, and really draws you closer to God; it's amazing.

I did my Marian Consecration on the Feast of the Visitation, and renewed it on the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, (as I have a devotion to her under that title) both were huge boosts in my spiritual life. I'm currently working on deepening my Entrustment to Mary by trying to do the four interior practice of Total Consecration that St. Louis de Montfort recommends. I actually made my own chaplet in which I beseech Our Lady to grant me the grace to get into the habit of doing, I pray it in the OBOB Chapel on occasion.

I'm also working on saying the Ave Maria in Latin, I know it quite well, but not by heart yet. When I do pray it before my statue of Our Lady of Fatima, I can say it very well, as I say it out of my great love for Our Lady of Fatima, it was her under that title that brought me back to the One True Faith.
