CatholicPsych Institute Offers Groundbreaking Approach to Catholic Mental Health Care
Revolutionary model of treatment integrating authentic Catholic spirituality and anthropology with sound psychology makes tremendous impact
Over the last 25 years, there are more people in therapy and more people receiving medication for mental health struggles than ever before according to numerous recent reports, with nearly every metric indicating downturns as it pertains to suicide, gender dysphoria, and symptoms of depression and anxiety. As the United States observes Mental Health Awareness Month in May, one organization is observing positive transformations in the field thanks to its innovative proprietary model of treatment called Integrated Daily Dialogic Mentorship (IDDM) or “Mentorship” for short. Officially introduced to the public for the first time in 2019, CatholicPsych Institute, a Catholic mental health and wellness organization based outside NYC, is overwhelmed with success stories and tangible results patients are experiencing from Mentorship compared to traditional psychotherapy.
Traditional psychotherapy is typically intermittent; patients and therapists meet once a month or every few weeks – weekly at most. However, a lot happens between clinical appointments. Mentorship is 24/7 accompaniment that allows clients daily access to a well-trained professional mentor to process their thoughts and emotions in real time via a secure app. Since mentors respond within 24 hours, this allows them to engage in the work as it’s happening and respond in a more natural and organic way.
