  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

you could always go with the CCC # 841

"The churches relationship with the muslims.
'The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the creator, in the first place amongst whom are the muslims; these profess to hold the faith of abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankinds Judge on the last day.'"

all though you have to consider the fact that the faith of abraham holds that he was going to sacrifice issac and the muslims hold that he was gonna sacrifice ishamael, and also the fact that they consider jesus not god. But who am i to argue with inspired councils and popes.

The ccc offers not much on muslims but is a good source as many quote from it.

In the Love of Jesus Christ, the Living Word who is God

I never heard of the Ishmael being sacrificed bit.

He disowned Ishmael and his mother after Issac was born.

According to the Muslims.
The Qur'an does not explicitly state which son of Abraham was supposed to be sacrificed in the famous episode of Abraham sacrificing his son. Today most Muslims, whether Sunnis or Shi`ites, believe that it was Ishmael, in contrast to the Biblical record that it was Isaac. However, many early Muslim commentators believed and stated clearly that the child of sacrifice is Isaac. They base their conclusions on many hadith from the companions of Muhammad themselves.

Looks like the islam of yesterday is not the islam of today.

Thanks. There doesnt appear to be many Islamic catholic apologetic sites..

What do you mean?

There are a lot of islamic sites that try to convert Christians by using cartoons to capture our youth. The worst one is at islamreview.org and I deliberately left out the www to disable it from being a direct link. The home page seems okay but when you open to the onsite books, then the deception is more obvious. It is designed professionally to draw people into islam. Unfortunately it seems that there is nothing we can do to get this Texan site off the air. They are openly advocating open jihad against us. I wonder if Homeland Security or the FBI knows about them.

There is a problem in converting muslims to Christianity as it often leads to martyrdom. www.islamreview.com is a group composed of Orthodox and Catholic Coptic Christians. This is the best site out there. Have you visited it?

Prayerfully yours in Christ,
Elizabeth
