  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Catholicism = Deep

Man, I am reading through my fourth book of my recent Amazon order. The chapter on the Eucharist is amazing.

I didn't realize how the Catholic understanding of it is rooted so deeply in the Old Testament teachings. It all makes sense when the Bible is taken as a whole.

If our separated brethren knew about how the sacrifice of the lamb must be eaten to be valid, they would know why Jesus said we had to "chew" and "gnaw" on His flesh to have life in us from His sacrifice, etc.

And the chapter on Mary, which showed the teachings of her all throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, wow, its deep.

Good stuff!

It's sad isn't it, what so many deny themselves and then turn around and attack what they clearly do not understand. Sometimes I could just cry tears over it. I know this drives the nails in Jesus' hands all over again.

Protestants don’t get it, we are not talking about some symbol this is our lord, their lord that they so callously attack, mock and ridicule. If they were never taught or if they don’t believe fine, but don’t attack something just because you may not believe. They should be more considerate of those that do believe because of the nature of the belief.

Yep, and it is even scarier that they ignore St Paul's warnings about not taking communion incorrectly.

:eek:
