Yes, of course I knew you were referring to mine. I take arrogance as a compliment. :p

What the heck? I would have said "two men" if it happened to be two men, so quit with trying to bring me down.
If you don't want to be brought down, employ this thing called... tact.

In most of your postings, especially in the OBOB forum, it has been noticably lacking.

4. And if some conclude that Catholics shouldn't display the crucifix since Christ was taken down from Cross, then they shouldn't display the Cross, because the Cross on Calvary was taken down.
I agree with this completely. They had to take down the cross to get His body down.

I would also like to point out that Catholics do not only use the crucifix, but churches also frequently use a plain cross, or a cross with the risen Christ above it. I've heard that the crucifix is not used in some protestant churches because it's a 3-D image (idol), but this is funny to me because the cross itself is 3-D.

I've also heard they use the empty cross because it's a reminder that Christ is no longer on the cross, but what then makes that cross distinguishable from other crosses? Anyone could have been crucified on it. IMHO seeing the state of our Lord on the cross, and seeing what he went through is much more moving.

CCRunner, if youre still looking at this thread, I was convinced of the authenticity and authority of the Catholic Church while reading GK Chesterton's The Everlasting Man. This book was listed by CS Lewis as in the top 5 that influenced him to become a Christian.

And I do not think anyone else should respond to Matthias.. if he is indeed a troll then a response is exactly what he wants.

God Bless.

I'd appreciate not being called a troll. I've never called any of you rude names, so I'd appreciate the same in return. Calling someone a troll is rude, so practice what you preach sometime.

Calling me a troll isn't exactly going to make me stop being "rude" to you. If you find what I said offensive, send me a PM saying so, don't call me a troll or arrogant on the forums.

Matthias, I don't really get it either. What you said wasn't really rude...at most it was just as rude as the post that you were replying to. Though I probably wouldn't have been so harsh in trying to reprimand someone for something small like that...I think that hardly qualifies you as being a 'troll'.

Matthias' original comments that were trolling (which were reported and were edited) were found on another thread. However, his general smarmy attitude can be evidenced in this thread as well, especially in how he reacts to Shelb. IMNSHO.

Matthias,

You have had a chip on your shoulder since day one. I edited one of your very first posts in this forum, and you returned my pm basically saying that you didn't care that you'd broken the rules. The two posts that I just edited out contained vulgarity and were extremely insulting. You converting to orthodoxy has nothing to do with this.

Are you two being mean and offensive to me because I am yet another person converting out of the Catholic Church?
1. I am assuming I'm one of the two people being "mean" to you.

2. You assume I'm being "mean" to you because you're converting.

A. Frankly, if you became a believer in "The Big Toe", it wouldn't phase me for one second.

B. I have a tremendous amount of respect for our Orthodox brethren. I have no bone to pick with them.

C. You are running around posing as a Catholic, and not acting or speaking like one. If you wish to be Catholic, be Catholic. Since you don't want to be Catholic, act like an Orthodox. However, your very first post here, you were extremely rude to someone, telling them to stop being a moron and use a search engine. First impressions... you know what they say about them Matthias.

I think you have your standards too high for people. You seem to be getting a bit too big for your boots right about now.

You have nearly 5,200 posts, 7,714 blessings, and you live in Vatican City State. Because of this I guess you do have the right to be a bit big headed.

It's going to be tough for you to find someone as Catholic and holy and perfect as yourself, so maybe lower your expectations a little.

That way general Catholic people like myself can come here and post without getting disrespected and called names for minor offenses.

If you don't like me or my posts for whatever reason, then just keep away from my posts, and report any offenses to a moderator. Don't police them yourself.

Leave it to the moderators to find something I say "rude", instead of acting all high and mighty. If you want to be a moderator, then apply, but until then...

I only take concerns and complaints seriously from a moderator. Thanks!

Well, first off, I live in the United States. Second, I have zero blessings... they mean bumpkus to me. Actually, I gave them all to you. As for how many posts I have here... all they do is remind me of exactly how much time I've wasted here.

I did report you. Doesn't mean I can't draw my own conclusions about your attitude though.
