  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Once my father said that Catholics try to get more Catholics just to get money and that they just want people's money. I got an eight dollar free book about Catholicism and he just responded saying like: So. They DO take peope's money. Are tehre any large Catholci charities? And good webbies linkng to them?

CB777,
Tell your father that at one time and this was a while ago they not only paid my first months rent and deposit but also gave me all the furniture to furnish that apartment.
They also gave me clothes for my newborn daughter at the time, and food and set me up with their food pantry. This was because I had been evicted from my apt that I shared with my daughter's father when he left in the middle of the night and I could no longer pay the rent. I was referred over to them by my Social Services worker because they could not help me. And I believe the Government takes way more money for the purpose of such things but they had to send me to Catholic Charities.
In Christ
