  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

No. There is no major plan to film this classic novel anytime soon. JD Salinger has never permitted it.

But I did find quite a few short, amateur productions on youtube. It seems like quite a few high school boys enjoy filming and producing parts of this book for English art projects. Popular scenes include the dorm fights, the hotel hooker, and Holden and his sister. Many other scenes too.

I wonder what JD Salinger thinks about this.

Thank the gods. (and how did that book ever get to be a classic?)

JD Salinger has never permitted it.
Probably for all the wrong reasons though. I.e the cinema isn;t able to portray the deepness or whatever of his charecter/ story or whatever like his books.

You're a phony Mr. Salinger. A PHONY!!

If they can turn The Great Gatsby andA Seperate Peace into movies, they can make one of your silly book. Your book is pretty much those 2 combined anyway.

I wonder what JD Salinger thinks about this.

I hope he's spinning in his grave.
