Cat Moral Dilemma

I don't know what to do! My 15-yr-old Himalayan is very ill. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow and I'm not sure what the outcome is going to be. She is refusing food and water and is having difficulty breathing. I'm afraid she may die. :-(

My dilemma (sp?) is this: I have a 12-yr-old short hair that has lived with her ever since he was a kitten. I am going to Michigan Saturday morning and won't be back until Monday. My problem is: if my older cat lives, she will obviously need some care over the weekend and I have no one to help. However, if she does pass away, I'm concerned about my surviving cat and how he'll react to being TOTALLY alone for the first time.

Any suggestions on what I should do would be GREATLY appreciated.

(any prayers that my older cat pulls through and lives another few years would also be greatly appreciated!)

Is there any possible way that you can take your cats with you to Michigan? I'll pray for you and your situation.

I doubt it. My friend and I are staying at a hotel and I don't think they allow pets. Also, we're taking her car...which is small. :-( We already have the hotel reservations, although I'm tempted to cancel one day and just pay my friend back for whatever money can't be refunded. We've both looked forward to this trip for about 2 months (Lake Michigan) but I feel guilty/bad because of the situation my kitties are in. I'm their 'mother', so to speak.

Does your vet have kennels there? When I went on vacation, we would take my two cats and board them at the vets. At least then your kitty would have vet care and not be left alone and your other kitty would be taken care of!

That's a good suggestion! Either that, or have someone come into your house to check on them.
