  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We got a real bad flea infestation awhile back and I don't understand how it could have happened, we have one cat and she NEVER goes outside and no other animals ever come in.
I have done everything as suggested, the fogging, the vacuuming, treated the cat, etc, hopefully we are now winning the battle. YUCK!

Hi there Rhemarob. I'd recommend that you get your cat on a flea prevention program. You can get this stuff at the vet that you put on your cat once a month that prevents fleas from ever getting on him/her. You can also get a medication that you give to the cat orally. My Grandma uses the stuff that comes in a little tube and you apply it to the back of the cat's neck once a month. She has also used the oral medication. She told me that the stuff in a tube works better than the oral medication. That and you don't have to deal with trying to get the cat to take the medicine.

There are two types of anti flea medication I have given my cats in the past. They are both in the form of a tube and is squirted right behind the head on the neck area. One is called Advantage, and the other called Program. It's about $10 or less per tube, and it lasts approx. 1 month. The cheaper stuff in a spray is not as effective. The tube kinds kill fleas and their eggs right away. I used Program for a few months and my cats have been flea free since. You can only get these however at a vet clinic or online like on ebay. Any more questions just ask. Good luck!
