  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Luke 9:49 Now John answered and said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.”50 But Jesus said to him, “Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is on our side.”

Jesus did not discourage someone from casting out demons, even when they did not follow Him. The question that follows then is; how did this unidentified person know that he was dealing with a demon? What are distinguishing characteristics from classic trauma/neurosis? To what extent has the person in question self-medicated?

Matthew 12:43 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”

There is an unlikely determination that remission by way of clinical treatment does not inevitably set up that person to other spiritual issues. Demons have no issue with departing, only to return with another more powerful demon. No, you must be born again and receive the Holy Spirit to be made whole. There was no case where Christ ever failed to heal all who came to Him, regardless of the presence of unclean spirits.

Matthew 8:16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:“He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”

Demon or no demon, you are dealing with a person and the work of Satan.
Luke 13:
11-13
And, behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are released from your infirmity.” And He laid hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14-16 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loosen his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?
