I have never felt any fear when casting out a demon though. It isn't dangerous if we trust God. I was alone (physically) in the wilderness with a man who was completely possessed by the devil (who had been threatening to kill me for a year) as part of trials that God sent me through, and all I could see was Jesus and all I could feel was peace and His power and His Angels protecting me. And in Christ, I cast him and a lot of spirits out of my friend. When I have told this testimony, people ask me how scared I was. I wasn't scared at all. I was annoyed and I felt love for my friend, and I fought for him. But we don't have to fear any evil, because God is with us.

Yes, we have to exercise caution and we have to know what we are doing. But if we just trust God and walk closely with Him, the devil cannot hurt us.
I don't know the specifics of your situation and it's not for me to critique it anyway. All I'm saying is that they are truly THE darkness and the best policy for most laymen is to avoid them as much as possible.

I have heard that opinion many times, but I believe that that opinion is based on fear rather than faith. Shouldn't we instead be equipping the saints and teach them how to trust God, fear no evil, and handle evil spirits in Christ?

Through baptism, unclean spirits are cast out to make way for God's Holy Spirit.
That is true, if the baptism is done not only as a ritual, but as a symbol of the person dying to self and becoming alive in Christ, by choice. Though a person can be baptized in the Holy Spirit without water baptism.

Though not all spirits would leave if the person is still holding on to a sin, a lie or anything evil that God wants them to repent of. Because if we are not personally inviting the Holy Spirit into every part of our life, He isn't going to force us to, and He will not fill those parts of our being. If we give room to the enemy, we are not giving that room to God.

Matthew 10:7 -11 commands as follows:

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give. 9 Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses; 10 no wallet for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food. 11 And into whatsoever city or village ye shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go forth.

Why do we accoplish healing the sick, cleansing the lepers but fall short on casting out demons?

Please no discussion on how-tos because it breaks the rules.

Mark 16

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons;

John 14

13 And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Call upon the name of Jesus ... He will drive them out.

First, we have to look to who Jesus gave that command. He gave that command to his apostles, and not to everyone. And even then they weren't able to cast out every demon.

So your saying that Jesus' commands only apply to apostles and not applicable today to every follower of Jesus?

Is the Bible and the Gosples only applicable to the 13?

What happened to the same yesturday, today and forever?

1Co 12:28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

1Co 12:29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?

1Co 12:30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

This verse is about all believers, not just about the Apostles:

Mark 16: 17. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;"

It's hard to argue against the words of Jesus Himself.

And all of those things have followed the Church since the beginning.

Then what is your point?

My point is that not everyone can cast out demons, neither can everyone heal others. If everyone could do all of those things there would be no disease in the world.

My point is that not everyone can cast out demons, neither can everyone heal others. If everyone could do all of those things there would be no disease in the world.
That makes no sense. Because God's plan isn't to heal the whole world, so no matter what we do, that won't happen. His gift are used, and can only by used, according to His will. We cannot do anything without Him. So even if everyone had the same gifts in Him, we still would have to obey His will, or nothing would happen. Our gifts are His Spirit moving in the world, and it is not our will, but His be done! We are only His vessels. The miraculous powers that He gives by His Spirit are there to glorify Him and not to glorify man.

And you cannot put healing and casting out demons in the same category, unless you are speaking about answered prayers. Because one is a gift of the Holy Spirit, and the other one is something that Christ has given to all of us. I know many who have done self-deliverance, or delivered their friends. They did not have a special title or anointing or anything like that. They were only regular, God-fearing Christians seeking His will. And when we seek His will, He will act according to His promises to us.
