Matthew 10:7 -11 commands as follows:

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give. 9 Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses; 10 no wallet for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food. 11 And into whatsoever city or village ye shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go forth.

Why do we accoplish healing the sick, cleansing the lepers but fall short on casting out demons?

Please no discussion on how-tos because it breaks the rules.

Unbelief and blindness, lack of knowledge and fear of evil seem to be the cause of that in the Church.

But if we walk closely with Christ, in faith, He will lead us, teach us, strengten us and protect us. There is no need to fear demons and there is no need to shy away from the subject either. It may be uncomfortable to talk about, but that won't make it any less real or any less important.

Not sure why you think this but those who have been authority to do so can.

From my experience at many churches, and with studying deliverance for over 20 years, i have found that the majority, if not 99%, of these churches do not follow Jesus' command to cast out demons primarily because of fear.

Yes as a believer we have the authority...i agree :)

All born-again Christians have that authority.

I think what the OP is talking about is how most churches do not have a deliverance ministry, and most Christian live in unbelief and don't wish to even discuss the subject. Those who are suffering are being silenced instead of helped. They either get accused of not being saved if they have an unclean spirit, or told that demons don't exist or cannot be in a born-again believer. Then they are told to see a secular psychologist and take drugs instead of coming to God. Or the demons manifest and deceive people into thinking that they are the Holy Spirit, and very few speak up against it. It is a very big problem, and it allows evil spirits to roam freely in churches.

I don't believe that just being a believer allows one to cast out demons on demand. Authority given through the Holy Spirit allows us to participate in miracles. Scripture tells us that not everyone has been given the same spiritual gifts.

Not according to scripture.
1 Cor. 12:
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

Dealing with demon's in one's personal life is different than casting out demon's in another's. Authority granted through the Holy Spirit is needed.

I don't believe that just being a believer allows one to cast out demons on demand. Authority given through the Holy Spirit allows us to participate in miracles. Scripture tells us that not everyone has been given the same spiritual gifts.
There are two aspects of it. Not everyone is gifted, trained and anointed to do deeper deliverance, but all believers can cast out a demon. We all have that authority. (But we are unfortunately not allowed to go into details about how to use that authority.)

Authority is not a gift. Discerning of spirits is a gift, as is the gift of miracles. But authority over the devil has been given to all disciples. Jesus will lead anyone who has been given enough faith and has been made strong enough in Him to do self-deliverance or set a captive free if He places them in his or her life.

I have been gifted, trained and anointed for deeper deliverance, and casting out demons is very easy for me, but when I was new at it, casting them out of myself, Jesus was holding my hand through it and He overcame the fears that I was feeling. It was one small step at a time. And I believe that with the right understanding of Scripture, all believers can do it. There are many books available on the subject.

If not, we are told to help each other and edify each other, so asking for help is in no way a bad thing to do.

Luke 10:19-20 is for all disciples. If we can cast out a demon from ourselves (which is more difficult to handle) we can cast them out of others too. There is no difference. But it needs to be handled with responsibility and we have to be led by the Spirit.

Just because there are supernatural gifts of descerning of spirits does not mean a christian cant cast out a demon.

Manytimes the Holy Spirit informs you of demonic activity outside of the scope of the aquisition of being gifted in that area.

Jesus commanded the disciples to cast out demons. Do you think they all had the gift of discernment? Or did Jesus take them as they are.

Lately I’ve been wondering this. I really don’t get how essential this is to learn bc there’s people who desperately need help and there’s barely anyone to barely help them

Dealing with dark forces is not for the faint of heart. Not just anybody should attempt it. You must understand that dealing with demons, even if it's to cast them out, is more dangerous than any death trap. It's not something that laymen should attempt.

I didn't say that.

Jesus commanded the disciples to cast out demons.
When Jesus commanded his disciples to cast out demons, he gave them authority. The same with healing the sick.

I sent you Luke 10:19-20 in another post.

Yes it is. Anything one receives through the Spirit is a gift.
Salvation is also a gift by that definition. But it's not given to just a few for the sake of ministry. We all overcome the devil in Christ.

"You" haven't cast out anything. God cast it out. The demon just recognized the authority given by God. I have participated in casting out demons and healed but it is always God that did the casting out or healing.
Amen! It is Him and not me, something that I post about about often on CF. But it is me who is the vessel that He is using for His purposes. It is still I that have to speak the words, even though the words are given to me by the Holy Spirit.

Some churches only do deliverance prayers, but ignore the command that God has given us as His disciples, which is to "cast out demons".

That is incorrect. Jesus was talking to the "72" disciples which he had sent out.

17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

We may but we need to seek the gift through the Holy Spirit. Many Christians have failed because the authority they tried to use had not been granted.

I have never felt any fear when casting out a demon though. It isn't dangerous if we trust God. I was alone (physically) in the wilderness with a man who was completely possessed by the devil (who had been threatening to kill me for a year) as part of trials that God sent me through, and all I could see was Jesus and all I could feel was peace and His power and His Angels protecting me. And in Christ, I cast him and a lot of spirits out of my friend. When I have told this testimony, people ask me how scared I was. I wasn't scared at all. I was annoyed and I felt love for my friend, and I fought for him. But we don't have to fear any evil, because God is with us.

Yes, we have to exercise caution and we have to know what we are doing. But if we just trust God and walk closely with Him, the devil cannot hurt us.
