  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cassie was the girl from Columbine High School who was shot dead for answering, "yes," when asked if she beleived in God.

Michael W. Smith wrote this song about her:

This is Your Time

It was a test that we could all hope to pass
But none of us would want to take
Faced with the choice to deny God and live
For her there was one choice to make

This was her time
This was her dance
She lived every moment
Left nothing to chance
She swam in the sea
Drank of the deep
Embraced the mystery of all she could be
This was her time

Though you are mourning and grieving your loss
Death died a long time ago
Swallowed in life so that life carries on
Still it's so hard to let go

This was her time
This was her dance
She lived every moment
Left nothing to chance
She swam in the sea
Drank of the deep
Embraced the mystery of all she could be
This was her time

What if tomorrow
And what if today
Faced with the question
Oh what would you say

This is your time
This is your dance
Make every moment
Leave nothing to chance
Swim in the sea
Drink of the deep
Call on the mercy
Hear yourself praying
Won't You save me
Won't You save me

Frankly, I do not think Moore should be writing songs about (or so we think) a girl who died for God, and he should not be writing about praying and God, when he so obviously hates Christianity.

If the story of Cassie saying yes is true, that's awesome. But how would anyone know for sure? Nevertheless, I'm sure she went straight to heaven.

This has me completely lost. Are you talking about Michael Moore? I didn't think that he wrote that..... even still, isn't he a totally devout Catholic? How can he then hate Christianity?.... very confused here.

Peace.
