It's things like this that are the reasons guys stop doing nice things for you.
When women stop appreciating what a great guy they have, and keep raising their expectations, always needing him to top whatever the last thing he did was, there comes a point where us guys will simply give up and stop trying to be thoughtful completely. You need to make sure he knows that you do appreciate the things he does for you. You're not missing 2 carnations, you've gained 2 carnations that you wouldn't have if it wasn't for him trying to be thoughtful.
