Actually I think the proper response to the moral hysterics would be, thank you

Yea, but why tip their hand when telling them to shove off only revives it...like with this topic. Gotta run with a good thing.

Not that I agree with the hysteria surrounding this ad, as I don't, but here would be a good response to your response should one arise.

-Don't forget to let the door hit you on the way out after we boycott your sorry chain and give McDonalds all of our revenue
-Good luck getting any market share with Paris Hilton
-thank you for getting our ad onto news programs, free of charge, now we know where not to go.
-thank you for making out ad strategy so successful that the only gains we'll see is the beltsize of the fat men that frequent our restaurants
-you have been owned by the Big 3 since the day you were born, and no matter who you put on that screen for your overpriced, overrated hamburgers, you will always be in 4th place. Thank you and have a nice day.

Pretty good, no?

Could be better, if your dropped the arrogant "Big 3" tripe.

Am I the only one who made the connection to Cool Hand Luke ? As soon as I read the description of the Carl's Jr ad I remembered the scene with the Joy Harmon ("The Girl") washing her car. It's sexier than Paris Hilton and has a much better subtext, so really the Carl's Jr ad is just a shabby couterfeit. But Carl's Jr used a clever source, IMHO.

I don't care at all about Paris Hilton -- she's just another bleached blonde bimbo with too much makeup -- and I don't eat at Carl's Jr, so this ad campaign neither breaks my knees nor picks my pocket.

I don't like Carl's Jr. because it's too expensive and because of the commercials, but there are so many other tasteless commercials (i.e. TAG) out there that I'm surprised that this one is being censured so much.

Well, Paris doesn't usually tickle my fancy, but the commercial was amusing (as I imagine it was meant to be) - so I will probably get a Spicy Whatever Burger the next time I'm at a Carl's Jr...

BTW - If anyone has looked at the marketing campaign of Carl's over the past couple of years, I'll bet it hasn't really been geared towards the types of groups likely to complain anyway. Seems like they are going for the male dollar,15 - cholestoral meds, slightly sloppy, piggy and probably single. I imagine those guys will still go...

Take the Chicken Tenders meal.

3 pc Chicken Tenders meal regular combo at Carl's Jr.: $5.49+tax
3 pc Chicken Tenders meal regular combo at McDonald's: $5.32+tax
3 pc Chicken Tenders meal regular combo at Wendy's: $4.79+tax

Guess where I go to get my chicken. ;)

jasper got it nailed. The easiest way to boycott Carl's Jr and companies like it that use sexually explicit messages, violence and the glorification of sinful lifestyles is with the wallet. Hit them where it hurts. Just simply DO NOT use their products or shop at their stores or eat at their restaurants, etc.
I won't shop at Wal-Mart due to their treatment of employees. I won't shop at KFC after they decided they'd rather use their chickens as baseballs and discuses than by cleanly and humanely killing them. Now it's Carl's Jr. WOW Great. So there's another obesity-inducing restaurant that I can't eat at. Sort of ruins my plan to grow up and become your typical 350+lb white conservative male by the time I hit my middle ages. Now i'm gonna start losing weight which might turn me into a liberal and who wants that?

LOL I'm kidding folks. Follow the wise words of Frankie....Relax.

I got mine at Meijer's for $4.00. There were eight or so of them, made with actual muscle meat from former chickens. Just add cooking. ;)

I try not to eat much fast food, but I liked the Paris Hilton add. I might get a spicy bbq burger just to encourage them to keep using the add campaign. Seriously this isn't the first commercial to make use of a pretty girl ( I know some don't think Paris is pretty but a lot do) in a swimsuit. I think the only reason people are offended is because its Paris, and people remember the sex tapes.

Yeah Quizno's is never again getting another dollar from me. Nor is Carl's Jr, KFC, McDonald's, Wendy's, etc, etc, etc. Fast food is bad mmkay?
A noble goal. I am *this close* to giving up fast food altogether. But for a late-night Taco Bell run last Saturday (what else is open at 12:30 AM), I would be two months combo-meal free.

The whole point was to be arrogant, which is why I typed that out. I then explained that it was in jest. I managed to be arrogant, funny, and accurate all at the same time. Not very often that that happens. :D

Wow people getting all bent out of shape over a commercial, this is great entertainment. Go ahead boycott, it really won't do anything.

I don't eat fast food, but to be mortified over an ad, that just sounds ridiculous to me. If your kids take notice and understand the sexual subtext, they already understand sex enough that exposure to innuendo won't destroy them.

I always have to laugh at the idea that people go on rampages over sex, but violence, that's alright.

Reminds me of line from that "Zen" song by Bush, "There's no sex in your violence."
