I knew that back in the 1970-80's, Carl Sagan had become a big celebrity and had appeared several times on the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson. Tonight it occurred to me to ask: was Carl Sagan, at any time, the guest host on "Saturday Night Live?" So I researched my question, and the answer is no, Carl Sagan never guest-hosted "Saturday Night Live." I had to content myself with going to YouTube and watching old footage of Johnny Carson doing an impersonation of Carl Sagan, with jokes like this:

Johnny Carson (as Carl Sagan): It's not known, but we think "The Big Cigarette" *smile*.
