  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Care Portal is computer network that connects churches to the needs of families within the child welfare system. Specific needs are listed on the network and then churches have an opportunity to provide the needed funds or items requested. Here’s a link to their Open Request page.

Does anyone know of any other programs like this that use the Internet to connect those in need with those who have the resources to provide assistance?

What do you think about this kind of service?

I think we need more resources like this to connect those in need with those willing and able to help?

I used to counsel people looking for jobs. I taught them how to use the advanced features of Indeed.com. They were poor and used the Jobs Ministry computers. People who want to do volunteer work might contact Habitat for Humanity. The blood banks need volunteer donors. Some homeless shelters and soup kitchens will accept food donations. A local food pantry only had enough food donations to give people a bag of groceries once a month. I took food there and talked to the staff. People without cars can not get to there. There is Meals on Wheels for the elderly and the handicapped. I think they had their funding cut back. There are waiting lists for homeless shelter beds all over the nation. They only provide temporary shelter.
