I found a flower press - yes!!!! I got it today from the British Museum giftshop... i'm well impressed now i can press some flowers

LOL - yes a flower press is great. But you can do basically the same thing with absorbant papers and heavy books. <g>

Yeah I know you can but i figured i would do it right and anyway it's so pretty!! It wasn't expensive either so i can't complain plus it has a whole instruction leaflet and some absorbant papers with it

I love making your own card for you can drawing anything you like and design it how you want it! Awesomeness!

i love making cards. I was actually wondering if anyone has some websites to share where to find ideas and stuff, i'm struggling on what to do for my christmas cards. any ideas? or websites? thanks

i love making cards i started a couple of years ago with making invites for my grandparents fancy 50th anniversary party. ever since then i've been making wedding, anniversary, graduation, baby shower, and bridal shower invites. i'm thinking about making a website soon when i get a chance to see if i get open it up to more people.

I enjoy making cards on the computer. I used to make our Christmas cards every year, but postage has gotten so expensive we don't mail them out. I posted a picture of the card I made this year in the "Any card makers out there" thread. The outside has a hand drawn and scanned picture of Mary with the baby Jesus's hand reaching up to her and the words "The wonder of Christmas..." The inside says "is that God became like us so that we could become like Him." (In the other thread I posted it as one picture with the inside underneath the outside.)

I tried calligraphy.. and I found it a whole world on its own. Yes, I decided not to travel down that road, because it would take me a long time to get the writing up to scratch. It's such a temptation to just get some nice font packages and type in the words.

But I could lose myself in creative needlepoint.. trying out colours, experimenting with stitches, to get the right texture to suit an area.
