You may not know of YEC scientists that have accomplished anything in science, but you are not God and don't know everything obviously. If you go to AIG's website you will find some scientists that are accomplishing things, and have accomplished things in the past. They have listings of many of them. I am not going to post names, but suffice it to say blanket statements can easily be turned around on the person making them.

  Really? I have a question: Have these 'respected scientists' every accomplished anything in the field they're currently complaining about?

   I've seen some fun screeds on evolution by mechanical engineers, dentists, botanists, doctors, electrical engineers and even a physicist or two.

  I'm sure they've done something in their own field. Heck, since a couple of them have advanced degrees, they'd have had to do at least one thing.

   But none of these guys ever do original work in the field they're critizing. Ever.

   For an analogy: Imagine my car breaks. I take it to a mechanic. I spend the entire time he's fixing my car critizing what he's doing. I barely know the names of the parts, don't understand how it fits together, but I'm sure he's fixing it wrong. He ignores me, and continues to fix my car.

   When I leave, with my now working car, I continue to harp on how he hasn't fixed my car, and it's still not working, and it just looks like it's working, but if you check closely, you'll see it's not.

John Baumgardner does original research in plate tectonic and mantle modeling.  Interestingly, what he publishes in that field is all old earth.  John Woodmorappe (aka Jan Peczkis) has written old earth evolutionary articles in the J. of Vertebrate Paleontology.  What's strangest to me is that these two people are not above compromising their young earth views in order to publish in the mainstream literature.  Heck, Woody not only ascribes to an old earth, but also evolution when writing under his real name Peczkis.  So, to be fair some have published mainstream works, but none have written ye-creation stuff in mainstream works.  Kurt Wise and Steve Austin give an annual talk at GSA about nautiloid mass kills in the Grand Canyon, but they give the same abstract every year.  Abstracts are not peer-reviewed, but at least they go to national meetings and present their work.

LOL!!! Some mechanics have the patience of a saint.
